Wrap-up getaway

Hello!

I know writing about 2018 in 2019 is such a party popper thing to do, but I have been having stuffs to do ever since Christmas and only have the quiet time now, so let me. Hahahaha.

Two days before Christmas a friend asked me if I want to join him for this short getaway at Morella, a quite, small bay with our friends, and I said yes because it was after my shift and I will be having two days off. Yet, post the rare-24-hours-sleepless-shift I fell asleep and thought that they had been leaving so bye bye getaway. But turns out, my friend has this job stuffs coming and had not yet left. So, the three of us; me, Irsyad and Umi (I’ll tell you about this hilarious girl later) took the two hours drive after Maghrib.

The place located in Morella, specifically in a small bay called Lubang Buaya. It consisted of several cottages operated by the locals, and ours was in the corner of the bay. The cottage including a small room with an open dock overviewing the sea. Unlike others, our “cottage” was power cut and they weren’t able to provide us with an alternative, also no internet signal could reach us. So, a real getaway *insert nervous millennials laughter*.

But then it was exactly what we need. We have the chance to actually enjoy ourselves. We had some guest from Hitu that came and played guitar, and sang, and man! You’ve got to listen to him. Not just that he plays guitar well, and have a beautiful voice but he also knows lots of songs that he even sang Bengawan Solo! Hahaha. For the rest of the night we talked, we sang, we (they) played Ludo and cards and listen to one joke after another. And here is where Umi being the star.  Umi is Feny’s cousin (Feny is Irsyad’s GF btw) and she at first, appeared to be shy and quiet. She did not join our conversation during the driving and just answer shortly when asked. But as soon as she joined Dade, and the moon hitting the sky, the duo featuring each other in almost anything. They told jokes and sang odd songs (his JHS's march??) which went off-tunes here and there but totally enjoying themselves, we can't help but laugh and enjoy it as well. I bet that if Dade decided to jump off and swim that night, Umi wouldn’t have missed out.

I had the fun laughing till my jaws and tummy hurts and stargazing to the clear sky and the moon. I had the fun of stretching my legs to touch the water (it was sea-rising period, that it reached up to 20cm from our dock), and listen to the soothing wave sounds. Some of us (me included) even decided to just sleep under the sky on our open dock, enjoying the moonlight, and breezing wind. Well, at least till around 4 when Irsyad woke us up to move because it was seconds before raining. Lol. Thanks to him we did not drench ourselves.

Then, I woke up to the tranquilizing view of the sea. Such a blessed view :”)

The open "dock"

Fish swims just beneath our feet

Except for me (that for certain reasons unable to) everyone was jumping, swimming, and rowing the boat (literally) and we had Indomie telur and pisang goreng after, and then packed for home. It was short yet it feels so wonderful <3 already can’t wait for the next getaway hahaha.

Thanking each and every person in this pic that made me laugh so hard my jaw hurts

Ah. 2018 is certainly a relaxing year but this getaway is such a wrap! A perfect way to end the year, to gather and enjoy every moment, and cherishing it now and for the time that is yet to come.

Anyway, happy new year!

The six months update (kind of)

Hi there,  It’s your R1-going-on-R2 here. HAHAHA. Dang.  I was looking at my phone wallpaper today, of Janik Sinner smiling from ear to ear, lifting the Australian Open trophy. The joy in his face was so pure, the excitement like he never imagined he would win a Grand Slam. Before it hit me, it was only six months ago. Yet, January and the beginning of this journey seem very distant. It feels like I have been here for at least a year and a half, yet the novelty and adapting keep happening. So, when the newest batch was getting welcomed, I couldn't help but think to myself, 'Really? That fast?' You see, the residency system relies on the continuity of knowledge passed through independent study, bedside teaching with attendings, and from senior residents to us, the juniors. But in all honesty, though the last six months have been packed for me (and except for the wittiness, the athletics, and the know-how), I am not sure I have enough clinical knowledge to pass on to these 1...

Setelah koas - Sepenggal 15210

Your "Dek Koas" for the next 21 months, yeay! Foto diatas diambil setelah pembekalan hari terakhir di RSUP Sardjito a.k.a masih jaim dan belum terpapar kehidupan koas yang....ugh. Gitulah....
